What is the Digital Library?

The Texas A&M Digital Library supports faculty scholarship through digital services that provide new forms of scholarly communication, collect and preserve scholarly content, and promote open access to scholarly resources.  Please see the Digital Library home page and select the About and Services tabs.

What is the Repository?

The Texas A&M Repository is a digital service that collects, preserves, and distributes the scholarly output of the university. The repository facilitates open access scholarly communication while preserving the scholarly legacy of Texas A&M faculty. The repository contains many types of content, including electronic theses and dissertations, faculty papers and books, technical reports, conference proceedings, and digitized maps.  Please see the Digital Library home page and select the About and Services tab or go directly to the Texas A&M Repository home page.

What is the Texas Digital Library?

The Texas Digital Library (TDL) is a multi-university consortium dedicated to providing the digital infrastructure to support a fully online scholarly community for institutions of higher education in Texas. Through the establishment of shared policies and standards, forums for professional interaction, expertise in digital collections and preservation, and robust technical services, the TDL aims to increase the availability of the enormous intellectual capital produced throughout Texas universities.  Texas A&M was a charter member of this group and we obtain several of our Scholarly Services from the TDL.  Please see the Texas Digital Library home page and explore the About and Faculty Services links.

Where is the Digital Library Office located on campus?

We are located in the Library Annex, Room 612.  Please see these directions.

Do I need an appointment to visit the Digital Library Office?

Yes.  Please see the Digital Library home page and select the Help tab or go directly to the Contact Information page.

May I use material from the Digital Library for a publication?

In general, the Digital Library only has a non-exclusive right to distribute the contents of the library.  The faculty and students who use the services retain all other rights, including copyright.  Permission to publish any part of the materials must be obtained from the copyright owner in writing prior to publication.  Please see the Scholarly Communications home page and explore the Copyright for Authors link.
