Getting Started
1. How can I find out more about the Texas A&M Digital Repository and other digital library services?
For general guidance about the repository or other digital library services, please contact your subject librarian.
2. How would I gain authorization to submit items to the Texas A&M Digital Repository?
To begin a new repository collection, or to get authorized to submit to an existing collection, please contact Jay Koenig (jkoenig@tamu.edu or 862-3887). Students wishing to submit items to the repository must first obtain a faculty sponsor.
3. How do I submit my work to the Texas A&M Digital Repository?
- obtain authorization
- login to Repository
- under the My Account menu on the sidebar, click Submissions
- select a collection
- grant a distribution license
- upload your work
- describe your work
- review your submission
- click Submit.
4. What descriptive information do I assign to my work during submission?
For detailed information, see the Submission Guidelines and the Metadata Policy. Generally, the following information is required:
- Author(s)
- Title
- Date of issue (published, presented or created)
- Subject keywords/tag (at least one)
The following optional information is recommended in order to help users find your work:
- Publisher
- Citation
- Series/Report number
- Identifiers (ISBN, ISSN, etc.)
- Type of work (article, preprint, technical paper, etc.)
- Language
- Abstract
- Sponsors
- Description
5. Does the Digital Repository automatically assign any information or tags?
At the time of submission the Repository automatically assigns:
- A persistent web address for you and others to cite
- The date of submission
- The name of the submitter (may be different from the author/creator)
- File format (based on its extension) and size
